Protecting today's homeowners while preparing for tomorrow's growth.

Our sanitary sewer system is one of the most important pieces of infrastructure we own. When it reaches capacity, the consequences can be costly—basement backups, flooding, expensive repairs, and limitations on future development.

The Sewer Protection, Capacity, and Drainage Improvement Program takes a proactive approach. It requires certain new development to help offset the additional demand it places on our sewer system while creating a dedicated fund to rehabilitate aging infrastructure, reduce stormwater entering sanitary sewers, eliminate cross-connections, and provide grants to help property owners make improvements.

Just as importantly, the ordinance protects existing homeowners. Current homes are grandfathered, redevelopment is encouraged through reasonable exemptions, and compliance with cross-connection requirements is phased in over time rather than creating unnecessary burdens on families. The program also includes regular engineering reviews and periodic evaluations by City Council to ensure it remains effective and fiscally responsible.

Good infrastructure doesn't happen by accident—it happens through planning, responsible investment, and smart public policy. By protecting our sewer system today, we protect our homes, our neighborhoods, and Sheffield Lake's ability to grow for generations to come. I hope you'll support the Sewer Protection, Capacity, and Drainage Improvement Program.

The website www.SheffieldLake.community is both a work of irony and a platform of ideas.
It playfully satirizes the hypersensitivities of those who zealously defend Mayor Rocky Radeff’s policies, while earnestly offering real-world proposals for improving life in Sheffield Lake.

This site serves two purposes:

  1. To highlight, through gentle parody, the contradictions and overreactions that too often dominate local discourse, and

  2. To present serious, forward-looking solutions for residents to evaluate and discuss.

While its tone occasionally employs humor and irony, the underlying intent is civic — to inform, challenge, and inspire thoughtful conversation about the future of our city.
